Uitblijven van serieuze compensatie en goede aanpak van de problematiek heeft de gemeente Loppersum doen besluiten om een brief te sturen aan de minister en de Tweede Kamer. De gemeenteraad van Slochteren geeft in een motie aan zich te herkennen in de door Loppersum geschetste problemen en onderschrijft de brief volledig.
